Welcome to America's Oldest Country Store

The Store at Five Corners was built in 1770 by Samuel Sloan and used as a tavern for many years. During the Revolutionary War it was a used as a place for mustering the troops a watering horses. It later became a Pony Express stop and also a private school. In 1905 it was purchased by the Steele family who opened a small store on part of the first floor. It was also used as a Post Office for South Williamstown. During the Great Depression Jim Steele was known to have extended credit to many local families totaling over $45,000 without any intentions of collecting from them. It is this sense of community that motivates the new owners, the Lewis Family. In 1992, the store, along with much of the area was placed in The National Register of Historic Places. It continues to be a hub for the local community as well as the many travelers to the area.

The Store at Five Corners features an extensive array of specialty, local and regional food products as well as gift items which are hand chosen for quality, value and uniqueness. Our deli is well known for the fantastic and varied sandwich offerings, store made salads and delectable chef prepared meal offerings such as lasagnas and quiches.
